Susan Ray Schmidt to be on the Rachel Ray Show on Tuesday, January 4th

My friend Jerry passes this along:

Just to let you know of an important event coming up. Susan [Ray Schmidt] (Formally of the LaBaron Polygamist group, author of “Favorite Wife”, Star of Sourceflix video “Lifting the Veil of Polygamy”, and most important; born-again Christian) will be a guest on the Rachel Ray Show January 4th. This is not a 5 minute interview, the whole show is to be about polygamy and Susan the only guest.

Susan shared her story during the weeks of the last Manti Pageant to a bunch of us.

Hey Aaron, don't know if you saw, but postsecret.com had a Mormon secret today that has a few interesting comments! http://www.postsecret.com/

  2. falcon says:

The fruit of Joseph Smith on display in the miserable lives of these women caught in this horrific institution. Mormons generally still believe in polygamy but for political reasons stopped practicing it. If they didn't believe in it they'd take it off the books……but they don't.

  3. falcon says:

Well that's an interesting web site. Whenever I see things like that I think I'm either terribly naive, sheltered or both. About the only secret I have is sometimes I pretend I'm Buddy Holly when I'm practicing my guitar! I'm way boring.
BTW, that Mormon underwear is really unattractive and to think Mormons suppose it has some spiritual value. Isn't it funny the things people will do in the name of religion?
God wants us to be clothed in His righteousness based on our faith in Jesus and His finished work on the cross. This Mormon underwear thing is just all part of the hocus pocus right along with Smith's magic rock. Man, I don't know why it's so hard for Mormons to see through this con. It's just one more example of the more convoluted a thing is, the more people in cults will believe it.

  4. Violet says:

Aaron. Loved Susan's story. Thank you. Confirmed my beliefs. My heart goes out to her and all mormons.

  5. Violet says:

Not a fan of postsecrets.com either. PS. Falcon. I didn't like the guy saying you 'spewed'. I like 'share'. Thank you for sharing. You have educated me, and confirmed my deepest beliefs when I wanted to doubt myself. Thank you again. And Happy New Year. (PS. I am only 43 and postsecrets is not racy, just ugly.)

Here is a link to an article written by Susan on Lemondrop.com: http://www.lemondrop.com/2010/10/19/escape-from-p

  7. falcon says:

Thank you Violet. I often think that my laboring away here in defense of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, is not bearing fruit. I’ve seen posters come and go in my three years doing this on MC and I can sense the frustration and hopelessness sometimes.
The fact of the matter is that those Mormons who do post here tend to be of the hardcore type that have given themselves over to a mindset that has them locked in spiritual bondage.
My hope and prayer is that those Mormons who come by here and read looking for answers will find them and with the answers will come to a saving knowledge of the grace of Jesus Christ.
I happened to watch Susan on Rachel Ray yesterday and it’s amazing that with what, nine women in this cult, she’s the one that made it out. It makes you wonder and causes me to contemplate why her?

  8. falcon says:

Well thank you Violet. I often think that I'm toiling away in my man cave here with little or no impact. It's nice of you to provide some reinforcement and encouragement to keep going. It's a transient population of people who post here but I've always learned a lot especially from those who have found there way out of Mormonism.
May the peace of God rest on you and give you the courage and stamina to stay the course.
