In July of 2004 Mark Hacking called the police to report his wife, Lori, was missing. Almost a year later Mark was convicted of first-degree murder. He had shot his sleeping, pregnant wife in the head with a .22 rifle and sent her body off to decay in a Salt Lake County landfill.
Mark and Lori were eternally married in the autumn of 1999 in the Bountiful (UT) Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They planned to someday be together in the Celestial kingdom. Lori’s murder changed that plan. As a murderer, Mark has committed a sin
“for which there is ‘no forgiveness’ (D&C 42:79), meaning that a murderer can never gain salvation…he is outside the pale of redeeming grace…
“Murderers are forgiven eventually but…they are not forgiven in the sense that celestial salvation is made available to them…After they have paid the full penalty for their crime, they shall go on to a telestial inheritance.” (Apostle Bruce R. McConkie, Mormon Doctrine, “Murderers,” 520)
According to LDS doctrine, exaltation in the Celestial kingdom is only available to couples, and only to couples that have been married for time and all eternity in a Mormon temple:
“If one is going to be in God’s kingdom of exaltation, where God dwells in all his glory, one will be there as a husband or wife and not otherwise.” (Spencer W. Kimball, The Miracle of Forgiveness, 245)
“Since marriage is ordained of God, and the man is not without the woman, neither the woman without the man in the Lord, there can be no exaltation to the fulness of the blessings of the celestial kingdom outside of the marriage relation. A man cannot be exalted singly and alone; neither can a woman. Each must have a companion to share the honors and blessings of this great exaltation.” (Joseph Fielding Smith, Doctrines of Salvation, 2:65)
What I’m wondering is, according to the LDS gospel system, what happens to Lori Hacking? Joseph Fielding Smith said,
“No one can be deprived of exaltation who remains faithful. In other words, an undeserving husband cannot prevent a faithful wife from an exaltation and vice versa.” (Doctrines of Salvation, 2:65)
Lori’s parents have removed the “Hacking” name from Lori’s gravestone, telling the press that “Mark obviously didn’t want her (Lori) anymore.” I’m guessing that if Lori could speak, we’d find the feeling is mutual. It’s unlikely that Lori would want to spend eternity sealed to her murderer.
So what does eternity hold for Lori? Assuming she was “a faithful wife,” how does the Mormon system grant her its highest promised blessing?

That’s just the thing. The contradiction to me between Moses and Abraham is OBVIOUS. So I ask myself, what was JS doing here? And then I see that he had a piece of papyrii that he made up a story about, just as he was prone to do, and I say “ah-ha”, yes, I understand.
But I DO remember being Mormon, and that we always had an answer for everything. What you replied to me only made me want to cry for you. Can I ask you again, what do you think we Christians want to talk to Mormons for? To try to convert them? Cuz we’re bored? Because we’re evil? I submit to you that each one on this site come only to help you find Jesus and be freed from the cult. It’s a heart issue, a love issue. We’re not being paid, we don’t get anything out of it. But I can imagine that until and unless you “see the Light”, you can’t see that.

Have you ever considered that the real issue may be this “I have seen all of this before, and it really doesn’t change MY MIND” (emphasis added). God/Jesus requires that, Repentance, a CHANGE OF MIND. The change of mind required is that you (generally speaking) must bend your knee to God’s absolute authority and perfection, not your own. God said He was the only God. God doesn’t sin, nor make men do so. God’s Truth is THE ONLY TRUTH. All of the stuff JS did was in opposition to God. He was Anti-Christ. How can I say that? Because He said ‘the church’ needed to be restored when Jesus said that the gates of hell would never prevail against it. If JS is anti-Christ, you (gs) need to get on your knees and ask God to forgive you for walking around like you know anything, and ask Him to show you where and what the Truth really is (which, by the way IS JESUS). I prayerfully hope you (personally and generally speaking) repent (change your mind that you are the authority) and ask God to show you the LIGHT (which is also, by the way, Jesus).

Either you’re playing the deception game, or you really don’t know the doctrines of the LDS Church. There was nothing wrong in what I posted. So, if you can see how silly it is, why don’t you just leave it all behind and come to the Truth that God has in store for you. Christ is inviting you to the Truth, Shem. It’s up to you to accept the invitation. Now, why do I get the sense that you’ll come back with some crazy comment like: “Oh, so now you think you’re Christ making an invitation to me”? So, if that thought does cross your mind, here’s the answer: I am not Christ, but He is using me to make the offer to you. The truth will set you free, Shem. I know because it has set me free from the bondage of Mormonism. I don’t get Mormon doctrine wrong, Shem, I merely expose the stuff you all teach after one has joined the Church. I’m not going to let you get away with trying to dismiss my claims with your worn-out response that I don’t know Mormonism. I taught it, Shem. I lived it, Shem. I breathed it, Shem. I argued against Christians, Shem. Everything you are doing I have done, Shem. But, by the grace of God, I am on the right side, Shem. You can be no the right side, as well, Shem, but you need to humble yourself and admit that you don’t know anything when it comes to the Mormon testimony that I am sure you so proudly regurgitate during fast and testimony meeting. I am praying for you, Shem. You might be rude and bombastic in the tenor of your comments, but God still values you and wants to save you. That’s the message of hope, Shem, and all you have to do is believe that you are saved solely on the merits of Jesus Christ, who has always been and who will always continue to be the True and Living God–not a god with a beginning.

You don’t give the doctrine of the Church accurately. You also seem to try your best to put it in the worst possible way.
First, I know what it is to be exalted. This is explained quite clearly in the Doctrine and Covenants, at least ot anyone who actually uses their mind to think things out.
Second, woman are not dependant on their husbands to call them through the veil. This actually fairly well contradicts the entire doctrine I put forth in my first post, and contradicts the fact that the husband cannot go be exalted without his wife.
I would also say that you don’t give a very accurate dipiction of our doctrine concerning grace and works, but very few people do.
Most everything else you said had nothing to do with doctrine, but was an outright attack on our beliefs in general (accusations of heresy and twisting the scriptures, which I think you would be very hard pressed to prove by the way).
AS I have said before, there are few, if any, doctrines of the LDS church that I cannot find in the Bible. Most are so clear I have to wonder sometimes how people can miss them. The problem is that Christians don’t like to believe anything that is not either stated directly in the Bible, or can be assumed through the use of only one verse.
In most cases a christian can give only one, possible two verses that seem to contradict LDS doctrine. In contrast, for most LDS doctrine I can give six, ten, and somethings more verses in support of LDS doctrine.
