    @ Mike R.

Thanks for the kind comments on Gal.1:8,9

  2. parkman says:

    @ Rick B
Because of how rude you have been to me, I would say that you were asked to leave the LDS meetings because of how you asked the questions and not because you were asking the questions. Then again, I know some LDS folks who gauge their success by how many blogs like this they are banned from.
Since joining the LDS Church, I have noticed that church members group together into like kinds of people. The one group I never understood is the one you seem to think represents all of the people in the Church. Like you, they complain that they cannot ask questions. Even though there have been times I have had to restate my questions, unlike you, I have never had the problem of getting an answer.

  3. Rick B says:

Parkman, please cut the self righteous act.
You can claim I was rude, But it was more a matter of being truthful and honest. How many times did I ask you, how is it your prophet JS got all his prophecy’s wrong, and yet you think that is ok and he is still a true prophet of God? You have yet to answer that, then you say I am rude for stating you avoid questions and are nothing more than a typical mormon who cannot answer questions.

The Bible tells us to give every man an answer that asks for the hope that lies with in us, you seem unable or unwilling to do that. I was not asked to leave any LDS service for being rude, but for asking questions that they did not like.

I have read replys from ex mormons on this blog that will tell the same type of accounts and stories, Mormons crying persecution over being asked questions. I can show you accounts in the Bible of Jesus and the apostles asking questions or talking with people, they are not rude, but it can be perceived that way. Their is a difference between being rude and honest. If I am wrong then show me where, but since you dodge or refuse to ask questions, That will be hard for you to do, since you cannot go back from this point and show me where you answered questions honestly, or even at all.

You would rather have Christians pat you on the back, say they admire and respect your belief, then say, if they really believe Gal 1:8-9 and your following a false prophet, to ask you about that. Lucky for you, you have people that will pat you on the back.

  4. Kate says:

    parkman,
I couldn’t even ask questions with my own LDS family and friends. Because of the way we “born into Mormonism” people are conditioned from birth, to even question the BoM, BoA, a prophet’s teachings, etc. (past and present) is a big no no. When I was finding troubling things I would ask a friend or family member and instantly a wall would be thrown up and I was told over and over that I was just losing my faith. I didn’t go to my bishop because I knew he would call a “court of love” and I would be excommunicated. The open minded, let you ask any question and they will answer truthfully Mormon you are talking about simply does not exist. I’m not sure where you live, but I live right here in Utah. In the middle of it all. If you truly had doubts and questions about Mormon history, doctrines, prophets, things that don’t line up, you would definately not receive answers to these questions. For example, let’s say you are having a hard time with Joseph Smith’s polygamy and his secretly marrying children and other men’s wives, yet lying about it in public. If you went to your bishop about this would he give you the truthful answers to your questions? What happens when he brushes it off and doesn’t really give you an answer? Do you keep asking or discuss it with other members which is also a big no no? I can tell you that if you kept asking, you would be called in for a court of love which really isn’t loving at all.

  5. Rick B says:

    Parkman,
Something else I want to add is this, Their are Christians that dont like my style or approach, even Christians in my own church. I have said these things before to others and will say it again to you. My pastor has told my wife that people would come up to him and complain about my “style” or approach and he replies to them, what are you doing for the Lord, at least they were honest and replied with, I’m doing nothing. So the pastor would tell them to shut up and stop complaining.

Then their was a Mormon, hard core and what I call True Blue Mormon, despite my approach, we became friends, sent emails and talked privately to each other, and he started a Mormon blog because of me. Then TJAYT a currant mormon who posts on this blog sometimes, we call each other friends and we share things about our family’s and lives with one another, even laugh and tell jokes, he also has a standing open invite to come to my house anytime he wants. I happen to be a professional Chef/baker and been cooking all my life.

I speak to him the same way I speak to you, Yet you say I am rude, he calls me friend, even though we dont agree on Doctrine. So I am and have been friends with Mormons, Yet their is a difference between people like you and people like The Mormons I am friends with.

The Mormons I am friends with understand I believe the Bible and follow what it says, they know I ask them honest questions looking for answers and they are willing to debate honestly and dont make excuses not to reply by saying, I’m mean. (Cont)

  6. Rick B says:

The other type of mormon is like you, They look for any reason or excuse to not give an answer and cry persecution at every turn.

The best story of all, and I have hand written letters and photo’s to back this up. I meet two mormon Missionarys via a friend. He wanted help talking to these MM’s feeling he was not able on his own to do it. I meet with the two mm’s, and I was honest and straight forward with them as I am here with you. One Guy did not like me, and right away, started with the, I feel a spirit of contention and we must go nonsense. I was honest and said, if every time somebody asks you a question and you cry persecution how can we talk and have an honest talk?

One guy respected me so much for being honest, we sat and talked for 2 hours and then he wanted to meet a second time. We meet and again talked for two more hours. He said he wanted to meet one last time before he transferred. Well he called me on the last day we were to meet, he said he had the flu and still wanted to meet me, but I needed to pick him up at his place. I did, we talked for two more hours, But the last hour it was more about our lives and where were have been.

I love super hot food and so did he, I told him I make my own hot dry spices, 3 of them, Happiness, sorrow and eternal suffering. Plus a liquid version of happiness. I gave him some hot sauce and a bag of chips. Then asked him if he has ever done the (cont)

  7. Rick B says:

(Cont) Hot wing challenge at Buffalo wild wings, he said, I never heard of it. So I explained it to him, bought him a 25 dollar gift card so he could go. He went with some other MM and took the challenge and sent me pictures, he then went a second time, broke his record and sent more picture. We kept in touch for months via snail mail and he sent photos. I sent him one last letter and never heard back. I suspect the “higher up’s” were reading our mail and put a stop to it.

About a year later I ran into two new MM’s outside my house and invited them to come back the next day. They said yes, so I wanted to put them at ease and prove I can be friends with Mormons, So when they came over, I showed them the pictures and the letters I got. They said to me, You know this guy? I said yes, why? they said he is a legend in the local ward. I asked why he was a legend? They said, it is a result of him that all MM’s now go to BBW and take the blazing wing challenge. I told them that he did it as a result of me.

So yes I can be and am friends with Mormons despite my approach. So as far as I am concerned Mormons can and will honestly seek the truth and honestly debate with people, or they will look for any excuse to not tackle the hard issues, such as JS being a fraud who got all his prophecy’s wrong.

You know where I stand and what I think of you and why. If I am wrong, then explain it to me.

  8. parkman says:

    @ Rick B
You want to play the “JS got all his prophecy’s wrong” game.
I will be happy to show you why you are wrong.
    Here is my conditions:
    1. You post one and only one revelation at a time, no trying to hide the truth in a bunch of spam.
    2. You post the complete revelation, no taking parts out of context.
    3. I tell you why you are wrong.
    4. I will only respond to you, and none of your friends trying to get us off track.
    5. You may reply, but when you have finished you will move on to the next revelation.

Are you willing to look at the revelations this way?

  9. parkman says:

    @ Kate

I hear what you are saying again and again and I just cannot find that branch of the LDS Church you lived in. I have found some people who are as closed minded about being LDS same as I find many people like you who are closed minded about being non-LDS. The one thing I find amassing is how most people, who speak like you, say I am somehow not being truthful to myself because I have found answers to enough of your type of questions to have faith that I will find the rest. I also find that they are not willing to learn how to ask the questions without attacking the teachings and doctrines of the Church. By insuring that people will be put off by the way they ask the questions they can then blame the other people for their decisions.

  10. Rick B says:

    Parkman,
This is not my blog, nor is it yours, You cannot come making rules and demands stating who can reply and who cannot.

Then you claim I cannot hide the truth in a bunch of spam. When have I done that? I dont hide the truth and I dont spam people.

It’s funny you wont reply to my friends, I suspect it is more a matter of, you cannot handle the truth and dont want people who know these failed prophecy’s to be adding to them.

  11. parkman says:

    @ Rick B
In your church you show pride that one of your true teachers, your pastor, is on your side, when you had created contention with a fellow worshiper.
From what you have said, you do not like being around people who act like you do.
You call me a liar and you wonder why I return the favor and act like you.

  12. parkman says:

    @ Rick B
I see how you use a stacked deck when you are allowed to play by your rules.
If you want me to show you why you are wrong about Joseph Smith’s revelations you will have to get permission to use my rules. I like using my clean, unmarked deck.

  13. Rick B says:

    Parkman said

I see how you use a stacked deck when you are allowed to play by your rules.

Again, Back up what you said and show me from things I said, where I laid down rules.

  14. Rick B says:

Parkman, You really dont understand what I am saying.
I have lots of respect for people like me, people who speak the truth and do not sit around and say, I cannot speak to mormons and tell them they are wrong since that might offended them.

What happened at my church is like this, Their might be a person lurking on this blog and never replies, but yet they dont like How I say things, so they write the Mods and complain by saying, Please tell Rick, I dont like his style or how he talks to mormons.

Well here are two problems, One, They cannot say it to my face, If you have a problem with you you come to me, not go to someone else, Even the Bible teaches this.

Yet the people in my church who had a problem with me did not come to me, they went to my pastor. Second if someone lurking wrote a Mod and said, I dont like Rick way of saying theings, and the Mod said, Well are you sharing with the Mormons? Are you posting info for them or talking to them, and the person said, No I am not, I am just lurking, then they have no place to complain. Thats the same thing with my pastor, people were complaining about me, while not sharing the gospel with anyone, Thats what it comes down to.

  15. Rick B says:

    Parkman said

If you want me to show you why you are wrong about Joseph Smith’s revelations you will have to get permission to use my rules.

I’m sorry but since when did Jesus say, Ask someone for permission to share the hope that lies with in you and allow them to share the Gospel?

I will not ask you for permission to tell me why JS prophecy’s are wrong. Either you follow the Bible and Jesus and do as your scriptures and prophets taught, and share with people that ask, or you dont.

Your showing you both cannot and will not do it. Also I am not wasting 2-3 posts posting JS prophecy about building a temple in Missouri. That was one big time failed prophecy, The temple was supposed to be built in JS time, the people alive back then were supposed to see it built and use it. But as of this day today, The Mormon people dont even own the land, the temple is still not built, and is not even slated to be built any time soon. Yet some how according to you, this is not a failed prophecy.

  16. Mike R says:

Parkman, first let me briefly say that I personally would not say that “all” of Joseph Smith’s
prophecies/predictions for future events can be proven false, the reason being that some may
be vague others conditional etc . Having said that it also needs mentioning that a false prophet
can get a prediction right but that does let him off the hook as being a false prophet, especially
if his other predictions were not fullfilled as predicted . Now can I make a suggestion? May
you and Rick stay on topic or take your discussion to your private e-mails as attitudes are
starting to elevate here and that is’nt going serve any purpose in the light of 1 Pt. 3:15 .
    That’s my opinion . Thanks.

  17. parkman says:

    @ Mike R
I see that you agree with me that at least some of Rick B’s statements are past the limits of the truth. Since he is able to spread his lies here at this blog, I am only asking to be able to show— on this blog — how he is wrong. His blanket statements are so easy to say and so hard to disprove because of the number of revelations that are being talked about. Since his position agrees with the basis for this blog, no one so far has taken the time to correct him.

As long as he can spread his lies about my Church here at this blog, I will ask to be able to give the in-depth answers that are needed.

  18. Rick B says:

Parkland, yet again you claim I am saying and doing things with out evidence. Still waiting for you to show me where I mix spam in to cover the truth, or where I make the rules. Now you keep saying I do and say things that I am not. Why is it no one calls you on this stuff and when I do people get upset. Since when does the bible tell us to coddle and apease false teachers.

  19. Rick B says:

Mike r, correct me if I am wrong, parkland does not answer question, claims scripture teaches things it does not, and never backs it up. Then claims I am spreading lies about his church with out evidence. And then you come along and basicly tell me to chill, yet never rebuke a false teacher. Since when does the bible teach and allow this

  20. parkman says:

    @ RickB
I just asked you if you were willing to go line by line in one of your claims, without you spamming the answers with a lot of off subject additions designed to confuse and hide your answer, and all you can do is make questions that blame me for what you are not doing. Why should I believe you would ever act differently?

Since it looks like you will not do a line-by-line review of your claim that all of Joseph Smith’s revelations are false, I will give this short overview.
    1. Some revelations have come to pass.
    2. Some revelations have not yet come to pass.
    3. Some revelations were conditional on something else that did not happen, so the revelation did not follow.

For those who want more information a good place to start if at FAIR.

  21. parkman says:

You say I am wrong, and when I challenge you, you say it is my responsibility to prove you are wrong.
That might work on the week. It is your responsibility to prove your statements.

  22. Rick B says:

    Parkman,
If you claim I lied, then it is your job to back it up, not my job to prove I did not. It’s like this, I cannot prove I did not lie because of course I will say I did not. So I would have to say I did, when I did not.

Then if you claim I mix spam into my replys, then it’s really simple for you to cut and paste what I said and prove it. If you cannot prove these things, then it means you lied not me.

My next post will include D and C 84, but first you said

Since it looks like you will not do a line-by-line review of your claim that all of Joseph Smith’s revelations are false, I will give this short overview.
    1. Some revelations have come to pass.
    2. Some revelations have not yet come to pass.
    3. Some revelations were conditional on something else that did not happen, so the revelation did not follow.

Did D and C come to pass? No it did not, If you say yes then back it up. But as of yet the LDS has not built a temple, nor do they own the land.

D and C cannot follow your number two, since it was supposed to take place years ago and has not.

Number 3. 3. Some revelations were conditional on something else that did not happen,
I dont see conditions stated for this prophecy to have taken place, so this is a true false prophecy.

    D and C 84

1 A revelation of Jesus Christ unto his servant Joseph Smith, Jun., and six elders, as they united their hearts and lifted their voices on high.

2 Yea, the word of the Lord concerning his church, established in the last days for the restoration

    (Cont)

  23. Rick B says:

    (cont)

of his people, as he has spoken by the mouth of his prophets, and for the gathering of his saints to stand upon Mount Zion, which shall be the city of New Jerusalem.

3 Which city shall be built, beginning at the temple lot, which is appointed by the finger of the Lord, in the western boundaries of the State of Missouri, and dedicated by the hand of Joseph Smith, Jun., and others with whom the Lord was well pleased.

4 Verily this is the word of the Lord, that the city New Jerusalem shall be built by the gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which temple shall be reared in this generation.

5 For verily this generation shall not all pass away until an house shall be built unto the Lord, and a cloud shall rest upon it, which cloud shall be even the glory of the Lord, which shall fill the house.

Parkman, notice verse 3, it claims the Lord was well pleased with JS and others, so this should have been done, but it never happened.

Add to this, President Lorenzo Snow in June 1901 said

Many of you will be living in Jackson County and there you will be assisting in building the temple. (Deseret news, June 15th 1901)

I guess he also was wrong.

  24. parkman says:

    @ Rick B

I asked you to work with me to take apart your cover-all statement and you choose not to take part in it.
You are saying that you have no responsibility to back up what you say.
As before, I gave you an answer, which you again followed up by saying I do not give you answers.

Seems like I have gotten you mad enough that you are now willing to try to back up your words.

Now, the reason this is not a failed revelation.
You need to follow up D&C 84 with this.
49 Verily, verily, I say unto you, that when I give a commandment to any of the sons of men to do a work unto my name, and those sons of men go with all their might and with all they have to perform that work, and cease not their diligence, and their enemies come upon them and hinder them from performing that work, behold, it behooveth me to require that work no more at the hands of those sons of men, but to accept of their offerings.
50 And the iniquity and transgression of my holy laws and commandments I will visit upon the heads of those who hindered my work, unto the third and fourth generation, so long as they repent not, and hate me, saith the Lord God.
    (Doctrine and Covenants 124:49–50‎)‎

  25. parkman says:

what does “Your comment is awaiting moderation” mean.

    am I being censored?

    What for?

  26. Mike R says:

Parkman, If I had guess as to why your last post is in moderation I’d say it’s because you’re too
eager to steer our attention over to a Mormon apologetic site , instead of sharing your beliefs
in your own words etc. It’s you we would like to hear from not an organization ( most of us are
well aware of the organization you referenced —been there done that ) .

  27. Rick B says:

Parkman, I love how you try and prove a false prophecy by going to a different chapter completely, Then besides going to a different chapter, as I showed you, D and C 84 states God was pleased with them.

Then if you honestly believe that man can thwart Gods plans, your following a week God.
Another problem with your theory is, This prophecy was given in 1832, But as I quoted one of your Presidents from a statement he made in 1901, he felt this would still happen, so you do the math, 1832 to 1901 is 69 years later. So 69 years later we have a LDS president that says people will still build the temple and live in the land. No mention of D and C 124 claiming something happended to stop this. So maybe you better try this again.

    Parkman said

You are saying that you have no responsibility to back up what you say.

Again I never said this. If you accuse me of doing things and saying things I never did or said, then the burden of proof is upon you to back it up and prove I said or did it, not me proving I did not. You cannot prove a negative. If I really said or did what you accuse me of, then you should be able to cut and paste what I said and prove it, but since you dont and cannot it show you are bearing false witness.

  28. parkman says:

    @ Rick B
    “Parkman said
You are saying that you have no responsibility to back up what you say.

Again I never said this. If you accuse me of doing things and saying things I never did or said, then the burden of proof is upon you to back it up and prove I said or did it, not me proving I did not.”

I give the example of where I see your response is not based on truth, and you then have the opportunity to back up your original claim by expanding it. Who knows, if you give your back-up data, I might just change my mind.
    ;;;;;
I should have added the next verse to the scriptures I posted above.

51 Therefore, for this cause have I accepted the offerings of those whom I commanded to build up a city and a house unto my name, in Jackson county, Missouri, and were hindered by their enemies, saith the Lord your God.
    (Doctrine and Covenants 124:51‎)‎
I can understand why you do not agree with D&C 124, you believe the whole of this Scripture is false.

The thing is, you need to put you predigested desires aside while you study the internal agreement of the revelations. Section 124 gives the answer as to why the Temple was not built as originally stated.

  29. parkman says:

As to Lorenzo Snow’s statement. “you will be assisting in building the temple”. A person can help a building to be built without being there when the building is finally built. Back when the members of the local Wards were paying into the building fund for new buildings for that Ward, I helped the building of a couple of buildings that I was not around the area when the building was finally built.

One of the things that people who are against the LDS Church keep saying is how Mormons are moving into communities and changing attitudes of the local people toward the Church. With the assistance of the Mormons that moved back to Jackson County there has been a change in attitude of the locales, making ownership of the Temple site one of the few changes still needed.

  30. Rick B says:

    Parkman,
JS is still a false prophet and that prophecy is still false. If you want to quote other scripture then here you go.

37 Search these commandments, for they are true and faithful, and the prophecies and promises which are in them shall all be fulfilled.

38 What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same.

Not only do these verses contradict D and C 124, but it makes your god a failure and liar. I guess when your god spoke to your prophet he forgot he said this. Rick

  31. parkman says:

I do not see the contradiction, please fully explain your understand so I can see why yours is different than mine.

  32. Rick B says:

    Parkman said

I do not see the contradiction, please fully explain your understand so I can see why yours is different than mine.

Really? Verses 37 clearly states, the prophecies and promises which are in them shall all be fulfilled.

This does not say, they will or will not be fulfilled if man or human does or does not do something, Like you seem to believe according to chapter 124.

    124:51 says

were hindered by their enemies, saith the Lord your God.

Vs 37 as I showed says they will be fulfilled and it as I said does not hinder on man or Gods enemies.

But even if you argue I’m wrong, God as I shown goes onto say,

38 What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself; and though the heavens and the earth pass away, my word shall not pass away, but shall all be fulfilled, whether by mine own voice or by the voice of my servants, it is the same.

God says, No excuses, it will come to pass whatever He says, and even if the heavens pass away, His words will not. So this posses a problem for your theory that Gods Enemies put a stop to the prophecy being fulfilled.

  33. parkman says:

    @ Rick B
Before I continue answering you, I need to know: Is this the last disagreement you have with this revelation, or will you keep finding new ones?

  34. Rick B says:

    Parkman,
Either answer it or dont, Dont make excuses. People are not dumb, they know your playing games. If you want to play games, go to an arcade.

  35. parkman says:

History says you will play the ya-but game, here goes anyway.

We will now take your way of saying God’s new scriptures are wrong and apply that to God’s teaching in the Bible.

One of your complaints is how Joseph used the language of the Bible to relay God’s word to the LDS people.
Now, let us look at how your assumption, when used within the Bible, shows that the Bible is false.
    (Doctrine and Covenants 84:4‎)‎
4 Verily this is the word of the Lord, that the city New Jerusalem shall be built by the gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which temple shall be reared in this generation.

All we need is one place in the Bible where “generation” meant longer than the lives of the people alive and being spoken to on that day for you to also prove that the Bible is wrong. Do you really want to assume that God meant Generation to mean it narrow definition of today instead of one of the other many definitions used in the Bible?

    some examples

    (New Testament | Matthew 24:34‎)‎
34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.

    (New Testament | Luke 21:32‎)‎
32 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.

Do you really still want to stay with your observation?

  36. Rick B says:

    Parkman,
your nothing more than a typical Mormon who does not care about truth and believe what he wants to believe. Again, when you see your prophet failed and is wrong, you run to throw the Bible under the Bus and attack Gods word.

Now you move the light off the topic at hand and say, well define generation and ignore what your scripture says. So lets break it down this way.
According to D and C 84, the prophecy was given September 1832. Now this poses a few problems for you and your “Lets define” Generation game.

    Verse 4 says

beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which temple shall be reared in this generation.

  37. Rick B says:

I hit post by accident before finishing.
Now the D and C goes onto say,

and dedicated by the hand of Joseph Smith, Jun., and others with whom the Lord was well pleased.

The Biggest problem with your Lets define generation game is this, God said this temple would be dedicated by Joseph Smith Junior. That never happened, so add to that what I said from chapter 1 of the D and C, God said all this would happen and no excuses. So even if you defined a generation as a 1,000 years, JS died and that alone makes this prophecy a huge and epic failure and means God lied according to Chapter 1.

If thats not enough, then add this

5 For verily this generation shall not all pass away until an house shall be built unto the Lord, and a cloud shall rest upon it,

Now let me ask, how long is a generation? According to the Bible, after the flood, God said Mans days are numbered to 120 years, we will not live beyond that. So the longest a generation possibly could be is 120 years. Now back to why I posted when this prophecy was given to JS. It was 1832, so again, you do the math.

1832 to 2012 is 180 years ago. So even if we were beyond generous in allowing lets say, a baby being born that day that generation of baby(s) still died 60 years ago. So we missed this by 60 years, plus the death of JS, and the fact that the LDS do not even own the land as of this day. To me that is 3 strikes and your out.

4 Verily this is the word of the Lord, that the city New Jerusalem shall be built by the gathering of the saints, beginning at this place, even the place of the temple, which temple shall be reared in this generation.

You seem to be having trouble reading and understanding scripture. You quoted verse 4, then you quoted verse 3 and tried to make it look like it said something it does not say. Are you the “true teacher” that created this misdirection, or are you following some other “true teacher’s” direction?
    {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
I am not throwing the Bible under the bus, you are.
You should use the same rules on all of God’s scriptures, if you want to be truthful and fair.

Are you willing to check and see if one or more of God’s uses of ‘generation’ in the Bible failed your definition that you try to force upon His modern day scriptures?

  39. Rick B says:

    Parkman,
First off, I did not quote the D and C in a different order to make it say something different. Like it or not, your the one wetting your pants over the fact that God in D and C chapter One said, No excuses, if He claims it will happen it will happen.

It did not and now your left with a false prophet and false prophecy’s. So now you have to try and discredit the Bible to justify your position.

How do you know the verses you quoted from the Bible did not come to pass as it claims. Your simply assuming they failed but you failed in explaining how or why. And even if you give a reason, you keep telling us in various topic, we dont have a clue about what you believe, and we are attacking your beliefs, But as I and Falcon and Mike have all asked you over and over, and not just you, but every Mormon that has ever posted here making the same claims you are, none of them or you can or has answered our questions of. What makes your church the correct one? You keep claiming we are wrong, but also LDS off shoot groups, but never tell us why your correct.

Or where was Mormonism taught in the Bible, and how can you prove it was removed, or other questions. Instead you change the subject with other questions and then claim we do it. Like falcon said, Here is your chance do what no other LDS could do, and set us straight.

  40. Rick B says:

    Parkman said

This generation shall not pass, until all these things be fulfilled (Mat 24:34).

And that would be the generation that sees these signs that He has been referring to. What did Jesus say when He was being crucified? He said, It Is Finished. So Again, either Jesus Lied, Or He really did finish it. If He did finish it, then all these things were fulfilled. If They were not Fulfilled, then the burden of proof is upon you to prove Jesus did not finish anything.

    Parkman said

Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all is fulfilled. Now heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away (Luk 21:32-33).

We have the solid word of Christ.
Now even as Jerusalem was destroyed and not one stone was left standing upon another, and the Jews were decimated and the remainder were made slaves throughout the earth, and Jerusalem went under the hand of the Gentiles…just as all of that was fulfilled, you can be sure that Jesus is coming again.

I have been to Israel, I will be going back in 2013, Have you been to any BoM lands? No you have not, unless you count Vermont or New York or some place like that. I can go to Israel and see the places and people and eat the food mentioned in the Bible, I cannot tour the BoM lands, meet the people or eat the food.

First, to show your lack of knowledge with Latter-Day scriptures.
    (Doctrine and Covenants 84:3‎)‎
3 Which city shall be built, beginning at the temple lot, which is appointed by the finger of the Lord, in the western boundaries of the State of Missouri, and dedicated by the hand of Joseph Smith, Jun., and others with whom the Lord was well pleased.

First off, the dedication spoken of by the Lord had taken place on August 3, 1831 when Joseph Smith dedicated the city site.
    {{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
You are again twisting the truth when you say I am attacking the Bible. All I keep doing is to ask you if you want to use the same attack on the Bible as you do on God’s Latter-Day scriptures and you never give a direct answer. Understand how your “tests” affect the Bible is key to seeing how you are wrong. Are you willing to add the Bible to your study of what “this generation” means and are you willing to say the Bible is wrong because your findings match what you believe you have found wrong in modern scriptures?

Or, are you willing to admit that your test is a bad test. Either the test is bad, or you have proven the Bible is wrong. Are you willing to throw the Bible under your buss just to try to prove the LDS Church wrong?

  42. Rick B says:

    Parkman,
You are so blind and for some reason want to live in darkness. You can say all you want, I dont understand Mormon Scripture and That JS did dedicate the city site. Makes me wonder if you really believe that. I say that because when I first mention this false prophecy, you mentioned D and C 124 claiming Enemies of God put a stop to the fulfillment of this prophecy. You admitted it never came to pass. So even if JS did do as you say, and dedicated the city, who cares, it is still a failed and false prophecy. If you think this prophecy did happen, then you need to explain how it did come to pass. If you admit it did not come to pass, then you need to stop dodging the issue of D and C 1 where God said if He says it will happen, then it will happen and come to pass and no excuses. The no excuses includes saying Humans or enemies of God caused one of His prophecy’s to fail.

Then you are getting on me saying I dont use the same standered for the Bible that I use for Mormons. That is simply not true. I do, but the problem is, I dont see a problem with the Bible, but I see problem with Mormonism. And if and when you see problems with the Bible and try pointing them out to me you do a few things that causes confusion.

    1. you avoid answering my questions and automatically go to, Ya But the Bible has problems.

    2. When you claim you have issues with the Bible, you are vague in those areas. Example, you claim that generation means something different.

Yet you never tell me, how you define (cont)

  43. Rick B says:

    (Cont)
Generation. And you never explain or back up where you got this information.
Like I said, a generation can last at most 120 years, why, because God said He gives us at most 120 years, then we die. So it does not matter if we have 2 people or two billion people born the same day or with in a few weeks of each other, at best they can only live 120 years. This is what God said, and I have never seen anyone live 130 years or longer, so I have no reason to think God lied.

You quoted two verses and claim the are wrong, yet I explained why I believe they were fulfilled and yet, you never said why you feel they were or are wrong, and you never explained anything in any detail. and you want me or any lurkers to take you seriously and think you know what your talking about? Well I suggest you start giving more info and better explain yourself and stop avoiding questions by turning around and asking more questions and then also claiming problems in the Bible.

  44. parkman says:

    @ rickb
With all your babble, you still have not committed yourself to saying that you would be willing to say you have a bad test when I show you how your test is bad.

  45. Rick B says:

    Parkman,
your nothing more than an internet blog troll. You cannot and will not answer questions, you dodge them and then tell me I babble. Yet you never answered me about why my “Test” is wrong. you simply cannot explain anything. I am going to pray the Lord gives you everything you are looking for, and that is a swift return home with your father where you belong since you love darkness and are only trying to distract everyone from the mission at hand, and that is to have serious honest talks with people. I’m done with you, and praying for your swift return home.

  46. parkman says:

    @ Rick B
I give you answers and you say they are non-answers because you do not believe what is said.
I try to stay on subject and you spam with distracting questions, then tell everyone I do not answer you because I ignore your spam questions and try to keep you on subject.

One thing I have learned about you and some others at this blog is that as long as you believe in the late coming definition of the trinity you can shop for the “true teachers” that agree with you and you can ignore any “false teacher” you do not agree with. As long as your “true teachers” teach what you like you will agree that they are indeed “true teachers” but let them teach something you do not like they then become “false teachers”. You cheery pick what you want to believe.

P.S. thanks for the wish for an early death, I do not plan to follow your advice, for you see, I know you are a false teacher because of the way you do not follow God’s Prophet on the earth.

  47. Rick B says:

    Parkman,
The only reason why I am bothering to reply to you, is not because I think you will listen, but for the sake of everyone who lurks and reads and new comers.

The Bible says in Acts 17:11 to search the scriptures to know if these things are true. So just as the Bible tells us to search the scriptures, we can search to see if I really replied to you and vise versea. One way is to cut and paste what was said and the use of the time stamp. I can prove what I said and that I replied to you but you cannot cut and paste what you said and prove it since you never said it.

If you claim you can, then go for it. Now you said

    @ Rick B
I give you answers and you say they are non-answers because you do not believe what is said.

It’s not a matter of I dont believe what you said, It’s a matter of, you dont reply and are beirg false witness. So let me recap everything I said and replied with.

This started with me saying JS is a false prophet and he made a false prophecy of the building a temple in the state of Missouri. You claim it was not a false prophecy. I pointed out that as of this day their is no temple and the LDS dont even own the land. You replied with D and C 124 claiming the reason the prophecy never came to pass was it was the enemies of God. So first you claim it was not a false prophecy, then you admitted it did not come to pass and made an excuse as to why it did not. (Cont)

  48. Rick B says:

Then after I showed you that according to D and C 1 God said

37 Search these commandments, for they are true and faithful, and the prophecies and promises which are in them shall all be fulfilled.

    38 What I the Lord have spoken, I have spoken, and I excuse not myself;

Notice in Verse 37 it clearly says, ALL PROPHECIES SHALL BE FULFILLED. Yet You never addressed this issue, you dodged it, it you claim you did answer it, then provide the quote with the time stamp. All you did was change the subject and asked a question about the meanings of Generation.

Then when you got onto the issue of Generation, all you did was quote to verses from the Bible, said

    parkman says:

All we need is one place in the Bible where “generation” meant longer than the lives of the people alive and being spoken to on that day for you to also prove that the Bible is wrong.

You never explained in any sort of detail what you meant, but sure seem positive something is wrong. I then told you why I believe this was fulfilled and I told you how long I believe a generation was and why. I then asked you to explain to me how you you believe a generation was and how you came to that conclusion. You never did that.

I then told you that even if your right that JS did dedicate the temple, it is still a false prophet because the LDS do not own the land and that it has been 180 years since that prophecy was given. You never gave an answer to that. So much for your track record of claiming to answer questions. (Cont)

Really? Well let me fill you in on somethings, You claim I only listen to people I believe, that is not true, I read the Bible and believe the Bible Not you or your false prophets. Here are some examples.

    2 Nephi 25:23 Says

for we know that it is by grace that we are saved, after all we can do.

Now LDS believe and teach we are saved by works, Here is a list that backs this up.

The Encyclopedia of Mormonism states that

“for repentance to be complete, one must abandon the sinful behavior…Failure to alter outward actions means that the sinner has not repented, and the weight of the former sin returns” (3:1217).

    Spencer Kimball teaches,

“discontinuance of sin must be permanent”
(The Miracle of Forgiveness, p. 176).

Wow, Parkman, you lie so much this has not happened in your life, so are you saved?

    President Joseph Fielding Smith wrote,

“To enter the celestial and obtain exaltation it is necessary that the whole law be kept…Do you desire to enter the celestial Kingdom and receive eternal life? Then be willing to keep all of the commandments.” (The Way to Perfection, pg. 206).

I can keep going and show that works are required according to your prophets and leaders.

Yet here is what Jesus teaches.

John 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

    (Cont)

  50. Rick B says:

    (cont)

John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

So the religious leaders asked Jesus, What WORKS must we do to be saved? Jesus said, their is ONLY ONE WORK to be saved. Believe upon Him. So tell me, Am I listing to people who tell me what I want to hear? Or the Bible, Your leaders put burdens upon people that they cannot handle, Jesus said, His burden is easy and His yoke is Light, just simply believe. I chose Jesus over your leaders.

    Parkman said,

I know you are a false teacher because of the way you do not follow God’s Prophet on the earth.

I have shown it is your leaders that are false, I have shown I have replied to you, I have shown you have not replied to me and avoid my questions. If you claim I am adding spam to change the subject, then it is upon you to back it up as I said before. Yet you have not and cannot. So just go back to the bridge you came out from under you little Troll, other wise back it up with hard facts and evidence, not more of the same, just saying I wrong with out evidence, That is showing you are being deceitful and a liar.
