Let’s wind up the year with a light-hearted look at how not to respond to Mormon missionaries on your doorstep.
While some may say the star of this video appears spiritually discerning, he certainly did not follow Peter’s instructions given in 1 Peter 3:15.
I hope we will all do a better job than Apollo did when we encounter Mormon missionaries at our doors, giving a defense for the reason for the hope that is in us–with gentleness and respect.
A better way: Making the Most of Mormon Missionary Visits by Aaron Shafovaloff
Very funny video Sharon 🙂
Aarons artical was the first thing I ever read on MRM and I would agree that we will all have more successful dialog when we can be loving and patient with each other. You catch more flies with honey after all.
Interesting topic to end the year on.
I’ve listened and read some very strong presentations from exMormons regarding their experiences in Mormonism that I’m sure Mormons would say are uncivil; while I’d say the person was demonstrating passion. Mormons often demonstrate a built-in reaction that evaluates anything not supporting Mormonism as being persecution.
I would say tone is important but often what may sound on key to one individual is a sour note to another.
I learned many years ago that since Mormon Missionaries ( or Jehovah Witnesses etc ) come
to our door with nothing of value to give us , we must never let them leave with nothing we
must give them the good news , the true gospel of Jesus Christ. It only takes a minute on the
door step to share with them . Praise God for all the Mormons who found salvation in Jesus
this year thru the ministry of MRM , and the other ministries who reach out to Mormons
in love . May 2012 see multitudes more come out of the Mormon Church and into a complete
relationship with God thru the person of Jesus Christ —- Heb 7:25
