   RickB,

   in the post entitled ‘More on Normal Mormons” you wrote this in reply to one of my posts (I have pasted the whole reply without emphasising anything. All emphases are yours)

   First off according to Mormonism you are saved by your works. Now for those of us who believe the Bible and call ourselves Christians You cannot do stuff like take pictures of almost naked women and things like that. You can try and justify it by saying they have cloths on even if it is less than minimal and they pose in provocative ways. This causes people to stumble and lust, we are COMMANDED to avoid things like that. So no Ralph even if he was not a mormon and claimed he believed the Bible I would then say he is either an ignorant believer in the Bible or he is a liar that does not know the Bible.

   You emphasised that we "cannot do stuff like" that and that "we are COMMANDED to avoid" certain things. If its a commandment, isn't that something we HAVE to do?

   If one breaks that commandment can they still be saved or do they lose their salvation and have to start from scratch again? If the latter is the case then you are saying that works are necessary for salvation.

   I love how we have the drive by Mormons. Goodwill comes and spouts off, never tells us quotes or references and then leaves never to reply to us again. And they wonder why we think what we do about them.

   You really need to read all of what we write and not try and find things that you think are a problem, you also need to ask more questions once something is written, instead of trying to go back and find problems. I have addressed all this before.

   It's like this. We are saved by grace alone, works do not save us, In Mormonism you cannot be saved without works, I cited quotes before. We Must be baptized, we must pay Tithes, we cannot be saved on our death beds, or right before being executed. Why? Because we have no had time to do any works to be saved.

   In Christianity, Christ Died for our sin and paid the penalty, we are saved with out works. Yes God commands us not to do certain things, But were not commanded to abstain from them as a work of salvation. Here is an example, Hitler killed millions of people, if before he died he truly repented of his sins and asked Christ to cover him in the shed blood of Jesus for remission of sins, then Hitler can be saved. Now on the other hand, take some one known for doing good works, like Mother Teresa for example, no matter how many good works she did, if she never asked Jesus to forgive her of her sins, then she will end up in hell forever apart from Jesus.

   Now we do these good works or abstain from certain things, not because it will help in our salvation, but because we love Jesus and he is our Father and told us not to do these things. SIGH!!!! Read again your Bible, Jesus said, Not everyone who says LORD, LORD will enter heaven, Many will in turn say, But lord, Did we not do all these WORKS in YOUR NAME?????????

   Jesus will say, I NEVER KNEW YOU. It great that they did works in His name, but they are not saved. Now if we claim to know Jesus, but we continue to murder people, or steal, or lie, or sleep around with many people, or cheat on our spouses, then were liars and do not really know Jesus, even if we claim to be believers.

   It's like I said before, If I dress up, put on an elder badge saying I am elder Beaudin from the church of latter day saints, Then give the gospel I believe, One God, Trinity, No works based salvation, etc, Not one Mormon would allow me to do that. Yet it's ok for you to say your Christians like us and preach and teach a different gospel. If you still dont understand what I am saying, then ask, dont bring it up months from now, making it sound like I am saying something I am not. Now it is harder for people to go back and read the full context and understand what I was saying.
