The Perfection of Beauty

Mormon neighbors, please join us in worshiping the MOST High God, not the relatively-more-high-than-you god.

Since you teach that I cannot do anything to help in my salvation and I must wait for God to choose me to be saved, why do you say I must do the works necessary to be your type of Christian?

What does being an unsaved Christian of your type get me that being a Mormon doesn’t; isn’t being a Mormon as good as anything else , since you say none of my works do me any good, no matter what I do?

Fred, I’m not sure I follow what you’re saying, but consider this : nobody is good ,
and nobody’s works are any good (in relation to receiving eternal life), this includes
Mormon or non-Mormon. Take time to ponder that . Thanks.

why do you say I must do the works necessary to be your type of Christian?

Where do you get these ideas? No christian poster on this blog has ever said to you, you must do works to be saved. We have said you must call out to God and confess, and YOU have said that Talking to God is a work. You are the one saying these things and rejecting what we say.

  5. fproy2222 says:

You say that God only saves the people He wants to save.
You say I can do nothing to help in my being saved.
You say that I should do the works to stop being a Mormon.
You say I should do the works to act like your kind of Christian.
If God, as you say, has not decided that it is time to call me to be saved, I see no reason to do any of the things you say I should do.
So, by what you say, until God gets around to saving me, what does being an unsaved Christian of your teaching do for me that I cannot get by being a Mormon?
If I follow your advice, all I can see me doing is changing from one group of friends to join your group.

PS. (Where do you get these ideas? No christian poster on this blog has ever said to you, you must do works to be saved)

I did not ask about doing works to be saved, I asked why I should do the works to join your kind of Christian group before God gets around to saving me.

(We have said you must call out to God and confess, and YOU have said that Talking to God is a work.)

Just how is “you must call out to God and confess” not doing something to help yourself to being saved?

Aaron, way to go on the Shai Linne video. One of the main things I love about Christian Rap is that it takes all the self-aggrandizing bravado of secular rap and uses it to boast in the only One Truly Worthy – the Most High God. The True Beginning and End of ALL things, the Creator of Everything, The Truly Absolute, Source of All Good, Nothing outside of Him, God ALMIGHTY, The Ultimate. GOD.

Fred, When you say (YOU) Who exactly is the (You), you are speaking of, I know your not talking about me. If you say it is me, then you better support this with exact quotes and topics you got it from.

I have NEVER said and would never say, God only saves those He wants to save.
The Bible says a few things.
    1. God loved the entire world so much, that He sent His only Son to die for us.

In that Verse it does not say, God only loves and died for a select few.

Also God says, It is not His Will that any man should perish. This verse is talking about people dying and going to Hell. So if the Bible speaks of people going to hell, and God says it’s not His will, then that tells me He died for all as He said.

When you said I say that you can do nothing to be saved, Thats not true either. I keep saying THE BIBLE teaches you can do nothing. The Bible say we are saved by Grace. Read these verses.

    Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

Please explain how you deal with verses 24 and 28 saying we are not Justifed with works. (Cont)

  9. Mike R says:

I want to wish everyone a great day tomorrow . Around our home we refer to the resurrection
of Jesus as ” The Big One ” . It’s mind boggling to know what Jesus did —for us !!!!!!!
    Thank you Jesus .

  10. Rick B says:

    Cont,

Gal 3:10 For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed [is] every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
Gal 3:11 But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God, [it is] evident: for, The just shall live by faith.

These verses say you are cursed if you choose to do works, and we are not justified by doing works.

Then the religious leaders asked Jesus what WORKS they must do, and Jesus said it was only one WORK, and that WORK if you want to call it that is simply to believe on Him.

John 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?

John 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

I also never said you should stop doing the works of being a mormon, I have said you should stop following false teachers that are leading you to hell.

I never said you should do the works I do to be a christian, I said you should simply believe what Jesus said and live by faith.

    Fred said

Fred, say what you want, But calling anyone for help is not a work. That like saying I will ask for help moving, as if asking for someone to help me move is a work. Your looking for reason to reject and thats your choice.

  11. Rick B says:

Mike, Most people serve Ham for Easter. I eat ham for Easter and it does not bother me, but it’s funny how we serve ham to celebrate a Jewish mans death and resurrection. Funny how that is.

  12. TJayT says:

I’ll parrot Mike and say Happy Easter everyone!

    Rick,

Growing up my Grandpa had a cooking pit, so we usually had pit roasted brisket for Easter. Still, it is funny about most people and ham. I’m glad Jesus died even for us dirty gentiles!

  13. fproy2222 says:

    Rick
(I also never said you should stop doing the works of being a mormon, I have said you should stop following false teachers that are leading you to hell.)

    What is the difference?

    +++++++++++++++

(I never said you should do the works I do to be a christian, I said you should simply believe what Jesus said and live by faith.)

Even though you did not accurately restate what I said, I will stick to the question I posed.
As before, you just restated your beliefs, you did not answer the question, anyone else want to try to explain how burning energy to make a decision is not working?

    fred

  14. fproy2222 says:

Let us all take a moment and thank Jesus for His sacrifice on this day set aside to remember it.

  15. Mike R says:

a question was asked, ” anyone else want to try to explain how burning energy to make a
    decision is not working? ”
Yes ,burning energy in making some decisions can be a lot of work , it can be more emotional
than physical , it sure can be stressful . It’s better to remain clam in making some decisions
it does’nt burn as much energy and it’s healthier in the long run . How’s that ?

a statement was made : ” Let us take a moment and thank Jesus for His sacrifice on this day
set aside to remember it. ”

Let us thank Jesus for rising from the dead on this day set aside to remember it .
